【2023/06/04】英検準一級を受けてきたので、答え合わせと自分で解説①【大問１】
今日、二回目の英検準一級を受けた。前回はSBTだったが、今回は従来型だ。リスニングがボロボロで悔しかった前回よりはマシだったが、やはり今回もリスニングは苦戦した。
【大問１】
（１）×
pacifyとdauntが分からず、二択で間違えた。daunted = intimidatedね。
（２）〇
pace(v)が曖昧だったが、何とか。
If you pace yourself when doing sth, you do it at a steady rate.
（３）〇
文中のtemperも四つの選択肢の語彙も曖昧だったが、それっぽいのを選んだら正解。
If people's tempers flare, they get angry.
（４）〇
これも消去法でそれっぽいの選んで何とか正解。準一級の語彙こんなに難しかったっけってくらい序盤から分からないのが多い。
If you intervene in a situation, you become involved in it and try to change it.
（５）〇
reservoirが全く意味不明の単語だったが、プロトコルがそれっぽい響きだったので助かった。
A reservoir is a lake that is used for storing water before it is supplied to people.
絶対日常じゃ使わん単語じゃん。

ejectとかerectとかinjectとか似たようなの多すぎてどれがどの意味か忘れてたけど消去法に救われる。
（７）〇
protective means designed or intended to protect sth or sb from harm.
protectiveの使い方に迷ったけど、offspringを知ってたのでいけた。
（８）〇
demoteもcraveもこんな感じの意味かなー、見たことあるなー程度だったけど、話的にdeだよなって思って正解。aggravateは全く知らん。
If you crave sth, or crave for it, you want to have it very much.
（９）〇
これは比較的簡単だった。でもaloofは知らん。looseかと思った。
sb who is aloof is not very friendly and does not like to spend time with other people.

disclose以外知らん単語だったけど、それが答えだったので正解。

これは知ってた。ほかの単語も何となく意味覚えてる感じ。wearyをちょっと忘れてたけど。

forefrontの響き的に当てはまりそうだなって思って正解。

lapseってこんな意味なんだって感じ。

forcefulとtranquilで迷って、辞書で調べてもうーん、どっちもいけるなぁ、わかんね、となったので、話題のAIさんに聞いてみたらforcefulが正解のようだ。文脈で判断する必要がある感じか。でもtranquilの使われ方的に、あんまりこういう言葉とかに使われることはないのかもしれない、例文とか見る限り。知らんけど。

settingって単語、簡単だけどムズイわ。

atmosphereにも一応使われるのかー、じゃあやっぱ文脈判断問題なのかな。

これは迷った問題だね。a majority of でもいけるよなぁ、と思いつつ、うーん、a majority of over $10 million？ なんか違和感あるなぁ、って思って、意味が曖昧なlegacyにした。良かった。
A legacy is money or property which sb leaves to you when they die.

altitudeもmileageも微妙だったけど、高度って意味っぽい前者を選び正解。マイレージってこういう意味なんだね。そのままやん。

blissful? showy? ってなりながらも、modestを何となく知ってたので正解。
A blissful situation or period of time is one in which you are extremely happy.
Sth that is showy is very noticeable because it is large, colourful, or bright.

これはかすりもしなかった。まさか最初に捨てたhold upにそんな意味があるなんて。

これはワンチャンあったかもしれんけど、選択肢全部曖昧だから間違ってもしょうがない。

この問題が熟語問題の中で一番簡単だった。

handからの推測で正解。
というわけで、大問１は21/25で84％だった。
知らない語彙ばかりだった割には、及第点というところだろうか。
次回は大問２の答え合わせをしよう。
